Terms & Conditions

Initial Assessment

  • Approximately 1-1hr 30 mins in the patient’s own home or alternative community setting.
  • Includes gaining personal and medical history, identifying what the patient’s needs are and what they want to achieve, as well as a physical and functional assessment.

Treatment Sessions

  • Therapy sessions normally last up to 60 minutes and are tailored to specific needs and goals.
  • Administration for legal documentation of that session, written guidelines/exercise programmes and liaison with other health or social care professionals is included in the treatment cost.
  • Progress will be reviewed regularly using standardised tests or through goal achievement.
  • Equally, if we conclude that therapy is at any time not being effective or is inappropriate to continue with, then this will be discussed with the client and referrer and the choice of continuing therapy or not can be agreed. Alternatively, referrals to another professional can be agreed.

Cancellation Policy

  • 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellation of services by the patient.
  • Appointments cancelled by the client with less than 48 hours’ notice will be liable for payment in full.
  • We will endeavour to keep all appointments. If, due to unforeseen circumstances appointments need to be changed, appropriate notice will be given but no liability can be accepted should this cause inconvenience.

Liaison and Consent

  • It may be essential to liaise with other professionals – e.g. a case manager – for the benefit of the patient, following consent from the patient or their advocate.
  • Routine communication will be included in the assessment fee.
  • Any necessary formal liaison, e.g. attendance at team meetings, will be charged pro rata at the standard hourly rate plus travel if required.
  • On the rare occasion there is a safeguarding concern, local authorities will be informed without consent as per legal and professional duties
  • In the interests of good practice, Physiotherapy professional standards expect appropriate communication and liaison between independent and NHS or Social Services for them to work together collaboratively to maximise opportunities for effective therapy to benefit the client.

Payment and Fees

  • Charges are correct as of the date of this document and will be reviewed periodically.
  • Invoices will normally be sent monthly with the preferred method of payment being by bank transfer.
